Welcome to Astra Academy WA ("Astra Academy"). These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our tutoring services. By enrolling in or continuing to attend lessons, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our Services.
New students are entitled to a two-week free trial. During this time, they may attend lessons without obligation or payment.
At the conclusion of the trial period, a tutor (or another authorised Astra Academy representative) will contact the student (or their parent/guardian, where applicable) to confirm whether they wish to continue.
If the student does not wish to continue, their enrolment ends automatically with no cost or further obligation.
If the student confirms they wish to continue, they will be enrolled in fully paid classes from that point onwards, in accordance with Astra Academy’s pricing policy. Enrolment will remain active until the student decides to cancel, subject to Section 4 (Class Attendance and Cancellations).
If the student attends a third week of lessons (with or without contacting the tutor), they will be charged for that lesson. Attendance at a fourth week will be treated as confirmation of enrolment in fully paid classes for the term.
Tuition fees are charged on a term basis. An invoice will be issued partway through the term, and full payment must be made by the due date specified on the invoice. If enrolment occurs partway through a term, fees will be calculated on a pro rata basis according to the number of weeks remaining.
Late or non-payment may result in suspension or termination of access to lessons and resources until payment is received. Astra Academy reserves the right to adjust its fees, with reasonable notice provided to current students.
All materials, content, and resources provided through our Services are strictly confidential and proprietary. This includes but is not limited to:
Educational booklets and written materials
Lesson recordings and video content
PDF resources and supplementary materials
Verbal instruction, advice, and guidance provided during lessons
Private communications and one-on-one consultations (whether in-person, virtual, or via messaging platforms)
Teaching methodologies and curriculum
Unauthorised sharing, distribution, reproduction, or use of any materials or content is strictly prohibited. Students and their families agree to:
Use materials solely for personal educational purposes
Not share, distribute, copy, or transmit any materials to third parties
Not record, photograph, or otherwise capture lesson content without explicit permission
Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary teaching methods and materials
Access to digital resources may be withdrawn once a student ceases enrolment. However, these restrictions on use continue to apply in perpetuity, including after a student has left Astra Academy or is no longer enrolled.
Violation of this policy will result in immediate termination of your tutoring services without refund, as well as legal action. Legal proceedings will be conducted through the Western Australian court system.
By enrolling, students commit to attending lessons for the full term.
Missed Classes: If a student misses a session, they will be provided with the resources for that week at a later date. Access to a recording or summary may be provided at the tutor’s discretion. No refunds will be issued for missed sessions.
Tutor Unavailability: If a tutor cannot deliver a scheduled class, Astra Academy will provide an alternative (e.g., a rescheduled class, an online lesson, or a pre-recorded video). No refunds will be given where a reasonable alternative is offered.
Unforeseen Circumstances: In the event of disruptions beyond our control (e.g., venue issues, public health restrictions), classes may be moved online or delivered via recorded lessons.
Student-Initiated Cancellations: Students may cancel their enrolment by providing 1 week of written notice. Refunds for classes that occur after the cancellation date for which fees have already been paid may be provided at Astra Academy's sole discretion.
Students are expected to behave respectfully during lessons. Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from a class without refund. Repeated issues may lead to expulsion from Astra Academy, with unused fees refunded at Astra Academy’s discretion.
Tutors may provide additional support outside of class time (e.g. answering questions via WhatsApp). While we aim to respond promptly, response times may vary depending on tutor availability.
Astra Academy reserves the right to amend lesson content, resource delivery methods, pricing, or these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
